Non-OP Night Vision

An enchantment for a helmet. In darkness it would allow you to see a certain distance, with a dark silhouette obscuring your peripheral vision. This effect would be similar to a carved pumpkin, but instead like the round beam of a flashlight. It could just be the gamma turned up with a yellow filter. Placing a light source or standing in daylight would decrease the effect or remove it entirely, or maybe its always on so you would have to choose a specific helmet for mining/exploring. As an enchantment it gives the player a choice of helmet type, avoids the modern look of a mining helmet, and the effect is already similar to other visual effects in the game already, like the pumpkin, spyglass or freezing effect. Its mainly practical for mining due to the crowded surroundings, but the effect will really add to the tension of lurking deep underground and having a mob come into view suddenly, or running across a plain and happening on a zombie at night. The enchantment could be gated behind late game content or found underground in the Wardens dungeons, although I always prefer renewability for items in the game. This could also be an effect by holding a lantern or candle in your off hand.

It could dim with the Wardens effect, maybe even be a way to detect its presence.

    As the effect is rather limited, it would not replace the utility of Night Vision potions, and would have a very "minecrafty" aesthetic. Having it as a helmet enchant would free up increasingly valuable hotbar space, but it could instead be available earlier to players if it was a lantern or candle in your off hand, as a trade off. It wouldnt replace lighting because its limited, and doesnt affect mob spawns. This would not be dynamic lighting, but a kind of filter, so it would be easier on your computers resources. Presumably, idk, im not a game developer.
