Fire Resistance is a nice potion effect to have, however, it's not very useful outside of The Nether. In The Caves & Cliffs Update, a fantastic feature would be allowing players with Fire Resistance to see more clearly in lava. This would add a whole new way to mine: players could use Fire Resistance to explore lava lakes deep underground and hunt for resources. As of now, anything under lava is nearly impossible to explore, whereas enhanced vision would allow dedicated miners to take advantage of ores submerged in lava - provided they're willing to make the required potions.
The biggest flaw with this concept would be that any items the player collects will simply burn in the lava, so I'll offer these solutions:
1. Deepslate ores (or any Deepslate blocks) could be fire-resistant.
2. Any items obtained while a player has fire-resistance could be fire-resistant until they enter the player's inventory or the effect wears off.
3. Nothing - players would have to drain the lava to obtain resources, but they would still have the advantage of knowing exactly where resources are.
4. Items could have a 3-second cooldown (or in this case a "warmdown", haha!) before burning in lava or fire.
All in all, this concept would add in a new flavor to mining and would be a perfect fit for The Caves & Cliffs Update!
