way to obtain more torches underground

With the much larger caves in the new update it is very easy to run out of torches even while carrying multiple stacks, I have found it to be more frustrating than anything to have to postpone exploring a new caveset just to get more torches. The answer seems to be to just prepare more but that creates the problem of inventory space, even with the addition of the new bundles. Currently this can be circumvented by getting wood planks from mineshafts but that is too situational to be a reliable strategy. I would like to see an ability to make more sets of torches or possibly a new light source with items that can all be obtained underground. maybe you could make copper shafts as a replacement for the sticks, or deepslate/stone could be used either, maybe that could be seen as too easily obtainable though but it could be made so you are only getting one torch per stone block.
Any form of torchlike light source obtainable underground is much more viable than what is currently in the snapshots and should be a valuable and convinient item to add to Minecraft.
