Partnering with optifine to add shaders and other optifine features

I would be quite happy if minecraft were to partner with optifine as this would allow shaders to be an official minecraft feature and could could allow for them to be much less laggy

    I think that they already tried this but optifine refused because they just wanted the optimizations and not the shaders.

    I feel like I'd be happy even if we got a turned down version. I just feel that MC lags too much in vanilla. This would also be great for server optimization!

    Optifine already feels like vanilla minecraft. I am all for this being added for improved performance and some of the ambient lighting and other features.

    I agree, it helps on a lot of older devices and laptops. 30fps to 120fps just like that.
