What if you wanted to “sniff out” a mushroom island. Currently, the only way to track down a mushroom island is to locate it by exploring, while this is great, I think there is a better way. In the real world, mushrooms are interconnected with a network of mycelium. What if we turned this into a system of tunnels that lead to the mushroom island? Here’s what I propose, in the world, you can’t locate mushroom caves, these haves will have mushrooms, large mushrooms, mycelium, and glowshrooms. The tunnel will lead from one point in the world to the underbelly of a mushroom island, where it will surface. I imagine multiple mushroom caves will lead to each island, so when you arrive, there are all these caves you can explore that lead to different parts in the world. I believe this would be super cool and would give a reason not only to explore caves, but to “follow the scent.”
