Not my original idea, but taken from the Minecraft Reddit which got 32k upvotes.
Basically, as it stands right now there really isn't geode variation, Amythests are nice, but every geode you encounter it'll strictly be amethysts that can get mundane, so the idea, which credits go to u/sciencedinosaur05, states that three new geode types can be added with glowing crystals similar to the amythest clusters. These will all be more gemstone-esque blocks with no crafting uses
- Sapphires: Blueish-green in color, but more akin to diamonds while having a very slight blue hinge
- Topaz: Yellowish color
- Rubies: A red color, but not a crimson-color like redstone or a fire engine red, something that has just the slightest tint of orange to make it more neutral. In my opinion, I think this solves the whole ruby ore problem, which people have wanted for a long time but can't for obvious reasons.
