I agree. There should be a separate "cliff" biome similar to beaches, that always generates adjacent to cold oceans.

This would be absolutely perfect. The other day I was literally thinking the exact same thing and came up with two possible varaints:

    • A colder stone and moss variant. This would be similar to the cliffs in the west coast of Ireland (the Cliffs of Moher come to mind). Rain, goats and sheep could be very abundant in these.
    • A white version similar to the White Cliffs of Dover. These could be a source for diorite, calcite or even a new overworld variant of the quartz ore.

    :)

I strongly agree. I was honestly pretty disappointed when I found out Mojang seemed to have no intentions of emphasizing the cliffs half of the "Caves and Cliffs" update. Crevasses and crevices are great, but I want the Cliffs of Insanity, like from Princess Bride! I want to be able to build lighthouses just at the edge of terrible wave-pummeled abrasion coasts, or recreate A Series of Unfortunate Event's rickety wide-windowed house overlooking Lake Lachrymose.

The improved mountains are great, but honestly, harsh and imposing cliff faces are something I just can't do without. I really want that lighthouse.
