The Story
The Minecraft Update 1.17 rolls around.
"You're simply minding your business, exploring the newly generated cave structures for the first time. You've beaten countless zombies, skeletons, creepers and spiders. But as you descend deeper and deeper into caves, minding your own business, probably exploring that mineshaft...
You hear it.
That low, droning, disembodied moaning of something inhuman. You don't know what it is, but it's not very good. You decide to keep mining, cautious, but now you hear chains starting to rattle around you alongside that moaning. In the distance, you can faintly see something through the glow of your Lantern.
What is it? Where did it come from?
It's gone by the time you come to it, but the moment you go back to mining in the deepslate caverns, it finally appears, moaning directly behind you. You turn around, now horrified of the sight before you, a new mob simply known as the Wraith."
The Explanation: What is the Wraith?
The Wraith is a special hostile mob that spawns in the deepslate caverns, mineshafts and nighttime woodland areas, which resembles a robed humanoid figure with a sack around its head and its arms chained together as it shambles towards you. It deals a severe amount of damage and takes a lot of punishment to go down.
When killed, it drops Chains, Rotten Flesh, or even an Amethyst Shard.
Whether or not you take on the challenge of fighting it is up to you. Personally? I'd rather run and survive another night, thank you very much!
