    I agree that they are too hazardous, but this could be alleviated by having frequent connective blocks between both sides so you won't fall down far; or making sure there is water at the bottom.

    Tbh I don't really know what the crack carvers are supposed to add that ravines don't... they're just seem more common and less pretty.

    ", or only place them in snow/ice biomes as crevasses naturally form in icy areas." I like the idea of crack carvers being more common/unique to certain biomes. Plains biomes don't really look like plains with lines dug up everywhere.

    I also believe the cracks are a little much at the moment. When I am exploring the world, especially for the first time, it really kills my immersion as a player because I can't look at the horizon any more, at least not while moving. I have played for a little while on the recent snapshots and even with full diamond I still find myself instantly dying from time to time when I was walking around and did not check the ground.

    My suggestion would be to expand the footprint of the individual cracks horizontally by a few blocks to give them a "bank" effect much like the rivers, so that the player has a bit of a warning without having to live in fear. Also they feel too frequent, maybe some biome specific modifiers like suggested previously?

    Other than this though I have absolutely loved where the game is headed. Personally I hope to see more uses for copper and amethyst.

    Agreed. Crevasses are quite much, especially considering the dimension they reside in, often being even more dangerous than the Nether and End's terrain. I would suggest that they should be removed, but ravines should be made more common between level 0 and level 32, that way we can still light up the noise caves without having death traps scattered throughout the Overworld. Ravines are way more noticeable and much less dangerous anyway.

    I think the idea of making the cracks have a bit of y level gradation on the surface is a perfect solution!
