lanters on walls

i have an idea that i have had since lanterns were first implemented and was disappointed when i tried to do it and it didn't work, and that is placing lanterns on walls, i thought maybe you guys could take the model of a cocoa pod and replace the stem texture with a chain-like texture, and the pod with the lantern texture, just an idea i had for lanterns, i hope you guys like it :D
