I feel like the current enchantment system doesn't reach its full potential when it comes to making loot fun and exciting.

In Minecraft Dungeons 1, I really enjoyed finding equipment with random enchantments. Getting a piece of gear with a great combination of enchantments felt rewarding. Yes, there was RNG, but I think RNG is an important part of this type of game. It's what makes loot exciting. Removing too much of that randomness takes away a big part of the fun.

I think a hybrid system could work really well.

For example, equipment could have 2–3 random enchantments, like in Minecraft Dungeons 1, plus one additional slot where players can use an Enchantment Book of their choice.

The Enchantment Books could also be reworked: to unlock higher levels (1, 2, 3, etc.), players would have to find the same book multiple times. Books could also be much rarer, making them more valuable when found.

If players wanted to use the same enchantment on multiple pieces of equipment, they could need multiple copies of that book.

This would combine the excitement of random loot from Minecraft Dungeons 1 with the build customization of the current system, giving players both surprise and control.
