If there’s one ore people have been asking for, it’s ruby. It was originally supposed to be in the game back in 1.3, but it was replaced with emerald because it looked too much like redstone. Looking at the newer texture for redstone, it really starts to resemble ruby more, and this gave me an idea. I think Redstone should be changed into Ruby while still staying the same. Basically when you mine redstone, rubies would drop instead of redstone dust. You would then put rubies into a crafting table to then make redstone dust, and from there you make all of the cool redstone contraptments you want. I think this would be cool because you’d be adding a new ore into Minecraft while at the same time changing an already existing ore, this could also allow for some extra uses for normal rubies, I’m not exactly sure what they could be used for, but maybe they could be used as an alternative trading option with villagers, like some villages will trade with emeralds while others will trade with rubies. Rubies could also be used for possible new weapon/armor tiers, but that depends, but most definitely there should be blocks of ruby and the ability to use them for beacons.
