I present, the amulet, a non-craftable, totem/potion like treasure item.
Amulets are another treasure item, so no crafting recipe should exist. They work like totems of undying, but provide different effects. This will encourage exploration.
They will never break, but they require a power source, such as xp or lapiz. They can only be refuelled once they run out of power.
Many amulets exist, so there are many to find.
#Purpose
They grant _special abilities_, like a
-dash mechanic or
-damage resistance to a few hits.
-regenerate some health soon after killing a mob for the next few seconds
absorb knockback of 3 attacks, your next attack can deal that amount of knockback
-more possibilities!
They typically run out of power after around 5 uses, but that varies based on how powerful an amulet's ability is.
This item could change the tide of battle, save your life, protect others, or even help you grow more potatoes.
Please help me improve this, exploration is not as rewarding lately.
#Where to get?
They can be found in dungeons, mansions, all sorts of temples, underwater ruins, fortresses, and bastions. I may have missed some, but they will never appear in a village chest.
Due to their varying power, the chances of finding an amulet can vary.

You can have many at a time, which also means that you can combine the effects of many amulets to grant you incredible power, albeit for a few moments. They can only be manually triggered.
