Mob Dungeons have a part of Minecraft for a long time, and it's very clear to see.
And, for all the worst reasons.
Cobblestone cubes with some mossy cobblestone, and a mobspawner with a chest for some loot, that is literally all they are. And, honestly when looking at how great other features in caves are now, they simply look EXTREMELY outdated and its just really, really boring.
I propose the following suggestions/ideas for updating these dungeons:
- Make them similair to the end strongholds: By this I mean having them be more than just one single room, make them bigger!
- Having different variants of dungeons: some easier than others. These could also generate at different depths to match the difficulty.
- Also, depending on how deep they spawn they could use different stone materials. For example, in the deep dark they could use grimstone bricks, and in the regular stone layer of the underground they could use stone bricks.
I think this is a feature that is BEGGING to be reworked for this update. It could play a far more significant role if there were more types of dungeons and they spawned more frequently, it really would reward exploration more, and maybe it could be done in a way where the deeper you go, the riskier the dungeon type will be. I think this would really add alot to the experience of going underground and make it more fun.
