Change deepslate back to grimstone

Change deep slate back to its old name Grimstone is much better

    I like both names equally, but the sound deepslate makes when mined needs to be kept because it's one of the most satisfying sounds in the game.

    I think it could be nice if it stayed as deepslate and grimstone as a new block (for example in the Nether)

    The "slate" name and appearance are unappealing. Grimstone, Deepstone, or Darkstone all sound much cooler.

    This stone variant needs a smoother texture too. The current one looks manmade and it looks ugly in the ground.

    The thing is in my opinion, Grimstone is the appropiate name that you should aim in this 1.17, because not only the name sounds more fluid and is easy to remember, it has some factors that make the name more perfect than it should be.

    Grimstone is generated below y-level 0 marking the beginnings of the deep dark: a dangerous place that is not only pitch-black, but lurking with powerful dangers such as the warden. Grimstone is both intimidating and fitting for the enviroment atmosphere. A name to be remembered by many players.

    Not only that but Grimstone, unlike deepslate, has many awesome meanings. Grimstone comes from the word grim. That word alone makes a powerful description of what the deep dark will be. Grim meaning: forbidding, uninviting, harsh, merciless, severe, worrying to consider and in some cases, sinister. Make mincrafters think twice befoire venturing down, by sticking their unforgiving mistakes marked by one intimidating word: grim

    Hard disagree, the name grimstone is too similar to blackstone, I've already heard a few youtubers call it blackstone, having more of a difference in name is better.

    Kingbdogz has explained before why the name was changed. You shouldn't be told how to feel about a certain block. You can see his full explanation on Twitter. Honestly the new name makes a lot of sense, if it had been renamed from Deepslate to Grimstone, people wouldn't have liked it either.

    It sounds too much like "deep state" which brings back bad memories of recent politics.  Perhaps they could find some other name that doesn't make you "sad" when you read the name?

    I disagree, deepslate sounds like an actual building block, a slate block. Grimstone seems like something more of a blackstone clone

    No deep slate is a better name it tells players more about the block and grimstone sounds to similar the brimstone that is why it was changed

    Dude deepslate is the original name grimstone was just a place holder before they could come up with it so if you care about calling something by it's original name you would call the block deepslate

    Honestly i prefered the name grimstone, but the choice to vhange the name was a very concious choice made by thw devs and i don't think it should be changed back
