I think you this makes the game a bit more realistic

I think the grimstone ores that will be added could only be smalted by a blast furnace.

  You know, when I read the title I though this would have been some weirdo add drills to minecraft, but I have to say that what you are pointing out is very interesting and it would definitely be a mechanic i want to be implemented.
