Mob free zone through amethyst reactor

Hear me out on this one, what if, there were some new beacon like structure like the conduit beacon. Only this one is powered by amethyst. Amethyst crystals would deplete over time keeping it interesting. By activiating the beacon you would create a radius in which no hostile mobs can spawn. This would be perfect for building darker atmospheric builds without the hastle of creepers blowing it up.
