Emerald mines would be a new naturally generating structure for Minecraft bedrock and Java found only in the new mountain biomes and would include one new NPC that would spawn near / in the mines. The purpose is add a structure unique to mountains that and allows easy access to emeralds in a way other than grinding villager trades.
The mines themselves would heavily resemble abandoned mineshaftes, but with a few key differences:
- Very high spawn rates for exposed emerald ore as well as ore veins larger than those possible outside of the mines.
-Loot found in minecart chests will include high amounts of emeralds as well as a rare chance to find powerful mining tools and mining related enchantment books
-An ultra rare fortune IV book only found in the emerald mines
-visual upgrades from mineshafts like use of candles and lanterns, rare TNT piles near dead ends, and other mineshaft variants
Along with the main structure I believe adding a new villager type only found near mines would give more reasons to look for them. Miners would spawn near mine entrances, possibly in a dedicated "miner hut" structure.
There would be a few things to make the miner unique from other villagers:
- like wandering traders, miners can only spawn naturally and cannot be created with a workstation block.
- miners will not accept emeralds for trades. Instead they offer them to players in large amounts for tools, light source blocks, TNT, and other mining equipment.
