A little while ago, Mojang announced that it would be implementing a new policy where it banned any Bedrock players who violated a specific set of rules.
There are many alarming parts of this announcement, but the most disturbing of these is the specific reasons for bans. Many of these are impossible to disagree with, such as threats of violence. However, some of the things mentioned fall into a much greyer area. Take the decision to ban, quote, "cheating/exploits". Very few people in the Minecraft community haven't heard of 2b2t at least once, but it's only the most common of a large genre of servers where everyone who logs on fully expects and understands that they could be griefed and killed at any point. I'm not going to get into hacked clients, since those are banned under the Mojang EULA, but since the specific point includes anything that would "negatively affect another person’s gameplay experience", it wipes out an entire genre in which many people thrive.
There is a simple alternative to this. Instead of flat-out preventing users from accessing multiplayer, instead put them in a sort of "queue" where the server's moderators (someone with "Operator" permissions, or otherwise, someone with the capability to run /kick, /ban, and /pardon) can see the specific reason and infraction for which they were banned, and then choose to either allow the player in or completely ban them from their server.
Thank you for your consideration, and have a great day!
