For a block type inherently tied to farming mobs, I feel that Prismarine really gets the short end of the stick compared to other blocks. To put it in perspective, here's a quick comparison.
Prismarine:
- Added in Update 1.8, alongside Prismarine Bricks and Dark Prismarine varieties
- Stairs and Slabs for all varieties added in Update 1.13
- Walls (Prismarine Only) added in Update 1.14, still no walls for Prismarine Bricks or Dark Prismarine
- No chiseled, cracked, or mossy block variants
- Obtained either by demolishing oceanic structures or farming Guardian mobs
Blackstone:
- Added in Update 1.16 alongside Polished Blackstone and Polished Blackstone Bricks
- Stairs, Slabs, and Walls for all three varieties as part of Update 1.16
- Chiseled Polished Blackstone and Cracked Polished Blackstone Bricks variants as part of Update 1.16
- Obtained by finding pockets in the Nether, trading with Piglins, or by demolishing Bastions
I'll never disparage the MC team for their work with Blackstone, but it would be great to see a bit of that attention passed back to poor ol' Prismarine, especially given we're getting two new aquatic mobs (one of which actually attacks Guardians!).
Wishlist:
- Walls for Prismarine Bricks and Dark Prismarine
- At least one Chiseled Variety (Prismarine Bricks with a Guardian imprint would fit so well!)
- Intermediate way of obtaining Prismarine between meager deposits in Buried Treasure and the Creation of Guardian Farms. Something as simple as additional Prismarine block generation in Ruins
