I would love to see something like this! Whilst I think it would have to be adapted to fit vanilla Minecraft in a more faithful way, I'm sure it could be achieved. Perhaps using different spells in conjunction with one another can create certain effects for more damage like hitting multiple mobs with a water spell and then following up with a lightening spell could be used to inflict the damage on all "water effected" mobs.

It would also be cool to consider how spells could effect other things outside of battle like how frost walking boots can be used to travel across bodies of water! Perhaps Earth like spells could help with mining and perhaps use the environment for combat, fire spells could help cook food and water spells could help remove fire status effects.

Obviously things like this would have to be tweaked so they don't overshadow other parts of the game we already have like cooking food in a smoker or using a netherite pickaxe for mining.

It would also be interesting to take into account the battlefield the player is in at the time of fighting a mob. Perhaps if you're underground you won't be able to use thunder spells due to there being no sky to summon lightening from or maybe if you're in the sky and away from the ground, you won't be able to use earth spells. Things like this could entice the player in experimenting with multiple elements and also balancing out this feature in a more adaptable and creative way.
