Bananas

Hi,

 

I am writing to recommend that bananas are added to Minecraft.

 

Bananas would be an edible fruit that Restore 1 hunger point and has a small amount of saturation.

 

Bananas would be found in bunches, on occasion, on the leaves of trees in jungle biomes. When broken you would get 3-7 bananas per bunch (The number of bananas per bunch could be increased with a looting tool and with a silk touch tool, you could get the banana bunch as a block).

 

When a banana is eaten or used it will return a banana peel to you. You can grow a banana bunch by placing it on the side of a leaf block on a tree. There would be 5 stages of growth. 1. Sprout, 2. Green/not ripe, 3. Ripe, 4. Ripe and Sweet, and 5. Overripe/bad.

 

Stage 3 would give you 3-5 bananas per bunch and stage 4 would give you 5-7 bananas per bunch. Stages 1 and 5 always just give you the banana peel back. Stage 2 will only ever give you 1 banana.

 

A banana bunch could be crafted by putting 8 bananas around a banana peel in a crafting table. When a banana is naturally generated or crafted, it would be at stage 4 of growth thus giving you 5-7 bananas, and will stay there indefinitely and will not continue to stage 5.

    I like it, the method of growth is very interesting and unusual and would be a unique plant to farm.

    I recommend adding the ability to compost banana peels, since it seems like this process would give players a lot of extra peels.

    I love this idea! Bananas seem like a missed opportunity for Mojang because they would be very unique to the game! Banana trees would be very good for builds too!

    How about adding it like an april fools update, and so you could place the peel for players and mobs to trip, and so you cant select it until you crouch?
