Swords made from the alloys of bronze and steel

Since we already have a lot of metals, how about a new block to make alloys.
We only need tin as ore.

Iron + coal = steel
Copper + tin = bronze

Thus one could have weapons and armor made of steel and bronze

The order for weapons
Wood> gold> stone> iron> bronze> steel> diamond> netherite

Bronze is good against water enemies (drowned and guardian)
Steel is good against cave opponents
(Cave spider, creeper, zombie, skeleton) if they came from a spawner
