    Could you expand on that? In what way do you want villagers to be transported (and not with leashes, that could be considered slavery)

    I agree, this would be helpful. In my case, I once built a "people farm" because the only village to spawn in a world (that I could find" only spawned with one door so there was only one villager. I was forced to construct an elaborate grinder deep under my base with a special room just so that I could release zombie villagers that spawn so I could cure them and then I had to build a water elevator to get them up to the breeding habitat which I built after going through the tremendous effort or relocating the original villager to safety. All that JUST to have the ability to rebuild their village properly, but then I had to go and relocate them from the people farm which was about as easy as herding cats. A simple option to request that they follow you would have gone a long way towards bringing villagers back from the brink of extinction.
