Waypoints in bedrock

There should be waypoints in bedrock edition. Now, if you don't know, you can create waypoints in the java edition of the game by having a named banner of your choice and then with your locater map you can right click with the map in your hand on the banner and boom there is your waypoint.

    It is already added, but with maps that are cheaper and more comfortable for the player.

    Wait, there are waypoints in bedrock?  How?  Is it a mod or in vanilla?  I must be blind or stupid because I tried it and nothing showed up on my map.  Can someone post a link to show me what I am doing wrong?

    EDIT: if this isn’t already in the game then let me second the motion.  I desperately want more tools to mark maps.  It would add sooooooo much to the game and help to make it feel like a real world.

    EDIT2: okay, when people mentioned waypoints I thought this meant a way to label what was on your maps and provide more detail.  Apparently, the green arrows that you can slap on your maps are also waypoints, which are definitely in BE/PE.  This is all fine and dandy, but I would like to see something much more detailed….. at least different colors other than green to create a scheme to mark places.  Definitely needs more….

    I agree, it'd help when doing long term exploring of a world now that bedrock is nearly infinite. It'd also be great for role playing servers where you have shops, homes, etc. marked.

    If waypoints are not added to bedrock, then at least be able to possibly dye the item frame that you hang the map on so the marker on the map changes to the same color that you dye the item frame so you can at least have a way to color code what specific points you are labeling for your maps. Hopefully that makes sense....

    Or have the ability to rename the map so when your curser hovers over the dot, you would be able to see the name of that map that you hung elsewhere.

    It sucks at the moment on Bedrock. You can only really make landmarks by placing copies of one Locator Map on Item Frames. These only show up as green pointers and that is annoying to know where everything is in the world. We DO NEED THIS in Bedrock.

    I didn't know this feature existed on Java Edition. They absolutely need to add this to Bedrock.

    Waypoints on maps have been one of my biggest issues with moving back to playing Minecraft without mods as the mods have their own minimap mods active that just give you a map on your interface by default.

    I won't mention the name of the mod or the mod service as I don't know what Mojang's policy is regarding mods.
