I absolutely love the new cave lichen! Buuut...... It could be brighter. Unfortunately, if it gets any brighter mobs won't be able to spawn, so making it brighter isn't very realistic. What I propose, is a new mob that spawns rarely, next to patches of lichen. It would give off a faint "glow" (it wouldn't actually light anything up, it would just look cool like the glow squid) and would look something like a fat slug, with a large mouth and cute eyes. It could crawl on any side of a block but it would stay near the lichen. It would occasionally make soft chirping noises or, a munching noise like it's eating the lichen. You would also be able to breed them, and put them on leashes, though they would die after 15 minutes of being away from lichen or being fed lichen. The Wurblur would also drop 1-2 glow lichen if you kill one. Now here's the useful part: when you feed a Wurblur glow berries, it would let out a warbling sound, and "glow" brighter. In addition, all of the Glow Lichen within a certain radiis would start glowing at light level 15, for ~5 minutes before dimming again. This would be VERY useful for lighting up the massive new caves and revealing ores, even if it's temporary. I could see Redstone systems being set up that automatically feed captive Wurblurs (with dispensers) to keep a cave well lit, without making it look ugly by placing torches all over!
