As it stands, the creative mode menu is barely usable. Blocks seem to be in a completely illogical order and often are categorized incorrectly. This is becoming increasingly an issue as more blocks are added into the game.
There are 2~3 ways that I've found so far that blocks are being categorized:
1. By type: most slabs are found together (in two separate groups) stairs are almost a group (again in two separate groups), and walls/fences are in their own groups.
2. by material: wood related blocks, stone related blocks, and dirt variants are all categorized into their own groups. in a similar vein blocks like blocks like blackstone, Purpur, and Nether Brick are found with their variants.
This doesn't include blocks isolated from their categories, So far I've found: glass, Netherrack, jack-o-lantern, clay, oak stairs, cobblestone stairs, brick stairs, acacia stairs, dark oak stairs, mossy cobble, every smooth block variant, redstone ore, bookshelf, blue ice, packed ice, block of coal, obsidian/crying obsidian, haybale, melon, mycelium, sandstone stairs, dried kelp block, cobweb, soul torch, nether brick fence, grass path, & slime block, just to name a few.
All this does is confuse the player and makes building anything in creative mode a pain. I suggest either a fix to the current menu or a complete overhaul to future-proof for later updates. Stick to one method of categorization so players don't have to look everywhere for one block.
