Recently I've been seeing lots of generic suggestions for glowing mushroom and crystal caves and all that. Yes, I want this too. But I want to clear it up, explain it in as much detail as I possibly can. If anything seems out of place, or you have more ideas, please let me know in the comments.
The Ilumi Caverns
Your strip mine goes on for a long time. Nothing interesting in the slightest bit has happened. Not much ores are showing up. A couple lousy veins of coal. No actual caves. You decide to head back to your base and build after a bit, but- Your mine opens into a cave filled with bioluminescent red mushrooms, and giant crystals all over. It is filled with a green and bluish fog, with some dust (Spores?) floating around just like in the Crimson Forest. As you walk through more mushrooms and crystals light up, showing every bit of ore that you needed. The underground lakes and rivers are filled with some form of glowing plants that have adapted to live in this water. This would be the home of the recently added Glow Squid (I wish that they didn't win, but I might as well make them live in here.)
