Process of copper oxidation should be faster in water (4 faces of block touching water and 2 face touching air) like 2 minecraft days in loaded chunks to make it go one stage it make sense. Water, oxygen in air and copper are reacting with each other to oxidize copper. It would allow us to use those oxidize stages.
