Sometimes while playing Minecraft, I find myself in situations where I could sneak by some Skeletons or Spiders that aren't looking at me, but because of the way the game works they just magically know im behind them by 16 blocks away and proceed to go after me with no actual way they'd know im there, which can sometimes be a problem when you are low on health or food and you want to get out of somewhere, and with the new 1.17 update coming along with the warden, maybe we could get a simple Stealth mechanic, you wouldn't get a damage bonus on enemies or stuff like that, just a simple crouching reduces the detection radius of hostile mobs by a certain amount, that way, one can go sneaking if they'd prefer to stay out of combat against some hostile mobs, for example: when sneaking, a Skeleton's Detection Range could be lowered enough to sneak through it but just enough to leave some space for the Skeleton to react in case I actually got too close to it. Also, in case you are already targeted by the enemy, sneaking wouldn't be of any use, because the enemy already saw you.
EDIT: This wouldn't affect the warden in any way.
