MCD: Shields

I play Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons and I think it would be really awesome if the players in Dungeons could have another inventory slot called Shield, because, since shields exist in the base game, and certain mobs are equipped with them, I thought it would just make sense to have shields for players too. Their functions would be that when a player holds down the same key that would usually be used to crouch in the base game, the shield would neglect some hits and afterwards, have a cool down. They would be obtained by killing mobs naturally spawned with shields, have a chance of dropping from some chest variants, and will have unique variants from some seasonal trials.

    I did not know there were mobs with shields. Also maybe this shouldn't go in a new slot, but instead it would be an artifact.

    Your shield should also be able to be disabled temporarily after taking a certain number of hits.
