with the addition of creepier and darker caves, and the "deep dark" and Warden mob, its obvious that the lower areas of the map are going to be alot more sinister and dangerous, and frankly im a little tired of seeing only lava as an environmental hazard, thats why im suggesting that the void, an already pretty eerie feature in the game be actually incorporated as an environmental hazard too, maybe near the very bottom of the map lava is less frequent but large rifts in the bedrock become fairly common, like a ravine that tears a line through the bottom of the world, dark and bottomless, falling into these would be dangerous for anyone, more dangerous then lava, even with enchanted netherite, in lava you can last what seems like forever with it, but the only way to escape the void would be an elytra and some fireworks if you react quick, maybe if you want to be risky you could also use the void as exploration in itself too, using the cracks in the bottom of the map to traverse to different caves
I believe the Void would add so much to the bottom of the map, making the ambiance even more unsettling, adding danger even for players with late game armor, and possibly even giving another option for exploration, although a risky one, i dont see this being a very difficult feature to incorporate and i believe many people would love this addition!
