Only Exposed Copper

Copper has a few green pixels on its texture, to symbolize oxidation. For this to make more sense, what if copper ore would be more common than it is now, but only be found if it is exposed and/or covered by gravel/sand (because they could have fallen over it). This would make sense, and also add more strategy to mining for it, as you would have to go caving.
