Cave entrances

I have been playing the new 1.17 snapshot as of 2/18/2021 and I don't know if I haven't explored enough yet or if they are rarer now but it almost seemed that cave entrances on the surface are sparse and hard to find. Since the new update is all about revamping the caves I think that the entrances to these massive beautiful caves should be easier to find to better show off these developers hard work. This could be just because the lush caves are meant to be this high up cave as an entrance to the depths but I haven't seen too much evidence of this yet since they haven't been added by the time I am writing this post.

    I found a deep mountain cave entrance on the top of the mountain but there is a random 5x5 piece of surface that is floating over the entrance to the cave with two trees growing on the island. I am unaware as of this happens in normal Minecraft too but it is definitely weird. I have a photo but don't know how to submit it. (if i can)
