Right now, andesite, diorite, and granite are generated after stone, but before caves-- that is, during the ore generation step.
Resultingly, there's no reason to dig through patches of these rocks because they are always exclusive to ores.
What if instead of this, decorative rocks were generated with stone, (prior to ores,) so that ores generate within decorative rock strata? (This would of course require such ores to spawn with textures that match the surrounding decor block, i.e. "Andesite Gold Ore" or such.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But to take it a bit further than that, what if these stones were also indicators of certain ore types, as they are in real life?
In the real world there's a good chance of finding copper in granite, andesite deposits tend to signal the presence of gold, and diorite tends to contain more iron ore.
Imagine miners strategically digging through the decor rocks when they find them because there's a higher chance of finding that one ore they're looking for!
