Hello! Just wanna say here that everyone working at Mojang is doing a great job and I appreciate what y'all are doing. So yeah about structures in caves: mineshafts, strongholds, and dungeons. I think (especially dungeons) they need a complete upgrade. Let's start with mineshafts, as of now, they seem kind of bland and a bit repetitive, they're all the same and whenever you find one they all follow the same structure: long tunnels, occasional bridges across ravines, and some minecarts. I think mineshafts need more variety with what they generate. Kind of like with the Bastion Remnants, they had varieties in what they generated like treasure rooms, hoglin stables, etc. We need that kind of variety for mineshafts so that way they feel like a unique adventure when you explore them all. Mineshaft TNT zones? Mineshaft ore extraction sites? Things like that. Now dungeons, they need an entire overhaul because dungeons are about a decade old. It's more of a box with some loot in it. I think with the dungeons they don't need variety, but a variety in how they spawn. Some could be huge labyrinths and some could be one tunnel with prison cells on both sides; some are big some are small. Just making the dungeons feel like a scary prison to venture through and unearth its secrets needs to be added, it needs to feel like an adventure that is thrilling in a scary-fun way with a feeling of dread. Strongholds are fine but could use the new and amazing deepslate blocks.
