So i have seen the new Caves and Cliffs Snapshot and its not much that has been added and not many features, but I'm loving it regardless. However, one thing i noticed that bothers me is that they changed the oxidation of copper to be based on the tick speed and not the number of days in a world, meaning that it can now take a few hours IRL for it to reach its final oxidation stage compared to a massive number of IRL hours and even many IRL days (or more than 100 days in-game). Anyway, i think this should be changed back in future snapshots.
No, i am not saying that it has to be the actual number of days that copper in the real world takes to oxidize, which is about 20 years according to a Google search, because that is absolutely ridiculous in the case of a game like Minecraft. I am only saying that it should be more than a 3 or more hours IRL (or roughly 9 days or more in-game).
I think a good number of days in-game for copper to oxidize by one stage is 100 Minecraft days and maybe 500 for it to fully oxidize. This amount of time allows for a reasonable amount of time in-game and in the real world.
However, I also like the new change to make it based on the random tick speed, so a game rule or toggle option in the Options should be added: "/gamerule copperoxidizetickspeed true", or something shorter and easier lol. But the point is, it should also be an option because I like both ways of doing it now that I've seen and experienced the snapshot for myself.
