    Such could indeed add more realism to minecraft. And for players who dislike this, a toggle could be made to disable it.

    Yeah, this is a great idea, as well as depending on what moon phase is currently happening it would change how many stars you could see. you could be standing in a spot with a light level of zero though and if you look towards a torch it would decrease the number of stars you could see. there are all sorts of cool things that could be done with the sky and the ambience of it.

    It would be nice to add a function to prevent going to bed if the bedroom is too bright, as we know in vanilla the player can go to bed starting at 12550 ticks, it would be great if the required number of ticks to sleep increased by 100 with each light level starting from 4, and if the lighting level were 15 blocks, then the player would not be able to sleep, which would force the players not just to run to the bed, but to break torches or build a mechanism using a daylight detector
