The fact that it has been over 5 years since the initial release of the Windows 10 Edition beta and we still do not have a way to transfer worlds without paying for a realm is bizarre.
Does Mojang not think people want to play on different platforms? Do they want money from realms? I imagine it's probably a combination of the two.
I, and many others, have sunk countless hours into our worlds on one platform, and while I don't want to speak for anyone else here, I imagine a number of these people like me have moved platforms (or want to) however we cannot because we want to keep our Minecraft worlds.
Now hear me out, I don't care about from Bedrock to Java conversion. They're entirely different versions all around and exist in different formats (and there are already tools to do it on PC) However I personally think there is no reason why we should not be able to transfer from, say, an Xbox to a PC. Or a PC to a Switch. What will happen when the Nintendo Switch or the Xbox One or the PS4 inevitably lose support? Will our worlds be stuck in limbo forever?
I already know people will say "Just make a realm lol" What if I have used up my trial? As I imagine many others already have. What if I don't want to pay to move my worlds? You shouldn't have to pay, that's beyond the point. It also doesn't help that realms barely works half the time, what are we even paying you for?
I'm sorry for sounding whiney, but I've been wanting to transfer my worlds for a long time.
