Realistic Gamemode

In realistic gamemode you need to drink not only eat! Your character can be scared, and you can add other, emotions too if you mine something with hand, it will decrease your health. You can add more drinks like tea and cofee. Just make all realistic!

    I don't know but I think this is something that Minecraft will implement over many years. If that isn't fast enough, try convincing them to break a tree with their own fists, or downloading a mod. It is also something that covers many, many areas and can be discussed there.
