Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

daggers and greatswords

(for java and bedrock)

these new weapons would be only craftable once their select blueprint is obtained.(or i guess it is already called a knowledge book). 

anyways when the book/blueprint is obtained the recipe for a dagger is a stick underneath a piece of (planks, cobble, iron, gold, or diamond). the recipe for a great sword is a sword in the bottom middle in the crafting grid a (plank, cobble iron, gold, or diamond. )

the knowledge books would be able to be found in the end or a new structure in the overworld

daggers would have a more attack speed, do less damage than a sword and have the same reach of an axe

great swords would have less attack speed , do a bit more damage than a trident , and have the same reach of a trident
