Improve Freezing

Freezing in Minecraft is currently very bare-bones. The only way to freeze is to be in powdered snow, and it isn't very fast.

You should take a while to thaw while freezing. Second, your hearts should freeze from left to right (and thaw from left to right), and you should only take damage once they are all fully frozen, excluding lost hearts.

There should also be more ways to freeze. Powdered snow would freeze a heart every second, and snowfall should freeze about a heart every 5 seconds.

Finally, there should be ways to speed up thawing. Starting from being fully frozen, being close to a campfire should take 10 seconds to fully thaw, a torch should take a minute but get faster the more torches you are around, being on fire should thaw 2 hearts every second, and lava should thaw 2.5 hearts every half-second. Being in the Nether would act as if you are always near a campfire.

TL:DR Your hearts should freeze from right to left. You should be able to freeze under snowfall, thawing should take time but can be sped up.

  I do think in snowy biomes, you should freeze very slowly, but quicker at night. Being in a block light level of 11 or more should stop freezing in those biomes. Like already, leather armor stops freezing, but now, maybe iron armor could speed it up, but also speed up thawing if in block light 14 or 15.
