I was thinking about it and I thought we have had a village update, an ocean update, a nether update, and now a cave update, so what is next? Passive mobs have been part of the game since the beginning and they have been neglected to have a special thing all their own. The thought is that there could be structures in the game that are specific to passive mobs.
For example, polar bears do not just wander aimlessly all over the tundra, they live in dens that they dig in the snow, so what if we added that? It would not have any loot or anything like that, it could just be a place where they could live. To spice it up, if you find one with a polar bear in it, it will always be hostile towards you ( you would not want someone in your house either). Foxes and rabbits do the same thing in real life so why not add dens for them as well? You could also take it a bit further, add mud block and make mud pits where piggies like to cool off (this could be a reason to add the muddy pig from Minecraft Earth).
Bees can live in a beehive, why can't other mobs have places that are meant for them as well? For example, why not a chicken coop nest block? It would work the same way as doors used to work for villagers (pre village and pillage update) where the more nests the more the chickens could breed. It could also have an inventory to store eggs.
To close, I think that it would be an amazing addition to the passive storytelling of the game, making it so that our passive friends have homes too!
