Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Lightning creating glass

When lightning strikes sand it should turn it into glass because it would be in theory heating up the sand and if lightning strikes red sand it should turn into ether red or orange stained glass.

    This, in theory, should make glass farmable. This would greatly benefit the players that need glass on a large scale. the glass would only be farmable during a thunderstorm though, which would make this feature not very over-powered.

    Lightning already breaks the fundamental Minecraft rule that all bad things happen because of the player. This buffs and breaks the rule even more. ;(

    Here me out. I was up all night tossing and turning when I got an idea for a (possible) new Minecraft feature. What if during thunder storms a player could place a lightning rod in the desert and if/when lightning strikes the rod there is a chance it could turn nearby sand into glass that is stronger than normal glass and can be mined without silk touch.

    I didn't know other players had similar ideas to mine.
