Mineshafts should only have 1 pillar of fences underneath them

In the newest update, we got the newest cave generation that has been a major hit with everyone (for obvious reasons)
However, mineshafts now generate 2 wooden pillars under them whenever they generate over air. What I believe would be better is if the mineshafts generated with 1 pillar in the middle instead of the sides, and used possibly oak fences or oak planks

This would make more sense since these are underground, and while underground you want to save as much resource as possible, and not use a lot of wood just to make some pillars

  absolutely agree. Also something I used to think was engaging about survival was that when underground and lost, one's survival was limited not by how many arrows or food they had, but how much wood they had to make torches with. Run out of torches and you can't go through any dark caves safely, and if you can't find your way back home you'll have to form an escape to the surface and take chances with the mobs up there. So bring wood. But since there are so many abandoned mineshafts now, and in future with potentially many large pillars of logs, that mechanic is kind of gone. Sad IMO.
