I have seen the new changes to the world height in the latest snapshot and it's awesome however I am concerned with old worlds, what happens with the new height, bedrock levels and i would like to suggest a way the new depth is implemented in old areas.
The obvious idea is to remove the bedrock and make it deeper however people do sometimes build around the bedrock and use it as a decoration. I have it at the bottom of the centre room in my base. My suggestion is that all bedrock touching: air, translucent blocks or liquids remains in place and all other bedrock (not exposed) at around y 0 is removed and lowered to the new depth limit. This will let pre 1.17 loaded areas use the new underground giving them easier access to ores and caves, without having to create a new world or explore new areas.
