By creatively adding the process into existing game infrastructure.
We get more new stuff with the least possible effort from game developers. Collect wood, burn wood to form charcoal, add lots of charcoal to cauldron, collect a little potash! this can be used as a fertilizer like bonemeal or added to mined coal to form gunpowder.
