As of 21w05b dripleaf is only obtainable from lush caves or the wandering trader, so an interesting way to make it renewable and allow it to be used in large scale builds, I propose that: when a fish mob is near a small dripleaf underwater, there is a random chance for it to swim over and interact with it and cause a new dripleaf plant to sprout form the waterbed within a 5x5 area.
I think this is a more interesting solution than simply bone-mealing it and incentives players to build functional aquariums. Perhaps the axolotl should be given this functionality instead, but by reserving it to fish means it wont spread out of control in lush caves and makes the fish mob less useless.
