Block compatibility

I would like it where new blocks or items will work with older blocks.

I want to make new items and blocks that can send and recive redstone signals, shear leaves and interact with blocks (like a shovel turning grass blocks into grass paths).

How I would like it done is if there features are already in the game but are not known, make them known so add-on makers can use them. If they are not already there, add components which do this.

    Yeah. Like then you could build a self constructing path/farm
