Basically, the Vision Enchantment works similar to how bells highlight pillagers during a raid (Java Edition). When enchanted, Vision makes the Spyglass highlight and outline all mobs/creatures. Debatable, but perhaps the enchantment can work through blocks/walls? So, Vision II is required for players to be able to highlight mobs through walls. This effect, however, won't work with other players for balancing purposes. As for Crossbows, Spyglasses can be combined with the Crossbow at an anvil to create a Scoped Crossbow, which can be useful for sniping at long range. However, this would require the Crossbow to fire the extra distance, which can be achieved by creating an enchantment (Marksman?) which would allow the Crossbow to fire much farther than the normal bow. Lastly, the Spyglass should have an adjustable zoom, whether that be by scrolling or having gradual presets (close range, medium, far, etc.). This would make the Spyglass more useful for a variety of distances and could work well with the previous ideas mentioned, especially the Crossbow Scope, because unenchanted Crossbows without the Marksman enchantment (farther arrow travel) could still benefit from a zoomed-out scope.
